Glenlivet fighting the effects of climate change

In the whisky industry, the distilling process relies heavily on sustainable and regular supply of water. There is a fear that the natural resources are getting depleted as a result of climate change. The Glenlivet Distillery owners (Chivas Brothers) have given Aberdeen University £4’000 to find the best places to preserve water at Glenlivet.

When it comes to the malting, mashing and cooling processes in the distillation, water is very important and a lack of it will result in a decline in Glenlivet A1 whisky. Definitely not ideal. We have no doubt that Glenlivet will find a solution. Good luck.
