Nokia 6

Nokia finally make a phone worth buying again.

The Finnish company that brought us the greats (3310, Ngage, 6600 etc.), has made a comeback. The Nokia 6 brings us many of the things that we looked for in our current smartphones, but were just not getting. Say goodbye to the days of breaking your phone after dropping it from 2cm above ground. Nokia hype up this phone with the line “Made to be life proof”. Its efficiency does not overshadow its sleek new look though. Good looking, solid, and can go on for hours…it’s like a WBFF model.

Key features:

  • 16 MP camera and 8 MP front camera
  • 32 GB mass storage and micro SD card up to 128 GB

Playlist Addition: Shane Eagle

Stay woke. This guy is making some serious art (been making art).

About a week ago . . . DJ Sliqe released Oceans featuring Da L.E.S. and Shane Eagle.

Advice: If Shane is on a track…download it. No questions. The boy from Midrand gained attention by coming 3rd on Vuzu’s show, The Hustle. Since then, he’s been dropping some serious tracks, reminiscent of a J. Cole trapping.

Our favourite tracks thus far:

Andile Buka is Top 10

Joburg native, Andile Buka, has been listed as one of the top 10 ‘Rising Stars of Photography’ by Adobe. Adobe searches all around the world for the special candidates to be listed on this prestigious list. So yeah, it’s lit.

What makes it more intriguing, is his come up story. Working a 9-5, doing photography, going to the dreary 9-5 and then back again. If you look at his work though, you will see that photography is his calling . . . There was just a bad signal the first time around.

Below are some of his snaps:

Adidas x Parley For The Oceans

Sustainability meets performance. Introducing the upcoming collab between Parley For The Oceans and Adidas. The idea; to work on preventing plastic from entering the oceans, and instead, to turn it into high performance sportswear (track spikes in this case). It will be known as “Adidas Prime SP Parley”.

The upper is made with recycled Parley ocean plastics and placed on a laser-welded frame to reduce weight. No release date as yet, but rest assured knowing that we got you.

Top 5

5) Adidas AdiPure

Who used it: Frank Lampard, Xabi Alonso

I’ve just named two of the greatest midfield maestro’s of the latest generation. If it’s good enough for them…you too can score 20+ goals a season in the world’s toughest league and score multiple goals from your own half. Bet.

4) Beckenbauer Super

Who used it: Franz Beckenbauer

The Kaizer, arguably the greatest defender of all time. Adidas created a simple but superior boot for the great. No nonsense, yet quality. Kind of like the greatest defender of all time.

3) F50

Who used it: James Rodriguez, Gareth Bale, Luis Saurez and some guy named Lionel

One of the most popular boots of recent times. Superstars use this boot. Amazing touch and it moulds to your foot. Typically a strikers boot but can be used all over the pitch. Built for everything to be honest. It would be a disservice to the boot to restrict it to one aspect of the game.

2) Predator Accelerate

Who used it: Zinedine Zidane, David Beckham

It wins World Cup’s and looks good while doing it. Iconic boot of the 1998 World Cup in France. It’s a shame that it had to come in second place, but it is nothing to be embarrassed about when the number 1 Adidas boot might be the best football boot of all time.

1) Copa Mundial

Who used it: Everyone

Released in 1979. In 2017 the same boot is still in high demand going for $150 in the US and £120 in the UK. RELEASED IN 1979! And still…you can go to any ground in the world and see a few of these tearing up the grass. The complete ball for any position. It has to be the best boot ever made. Quote me on that.

Joshua vs Klitschko

It’s almost that time, the time for a heavyweight great to get exposed. Joshua is the favourite going into the fight but has never really been tested by a great of the sport before, Wladimir Klitschko. With so much more experience than AJ it is going to be extremely difficult to call. All we hoping for is for a bout that gives us something more than the Haye/Bellew fight.

The magnitude of the fight does not just extend to the fact that they are both exceptional boxers but because if AJ wins this he can finally get our respect. Yes, 18 bouts, 18 KO’s…this means nothing if he is not beating greats, which I think we all know he can and should do. Exciting fight ahead of us…who’s your money on?
